UV absorbers / HALS of the OWI®SORB series

UV absorbers (light stabilizers) are substances that protect organisms or technical products from the damaging influence of light, especially UV radiation. The protective effect results from the absorption, reflection or scattering of UV radiation, whereby less radiation penetrates onto or into the body to be protected. For humans, sunscreen is of particular relevance, as its application protects against skin cancer.

On the technical product side, polymers and coatings are mentioned here, which are mixed with light stabilizers, usually as additives.
